This is my first Catwalk look which I also used for my Timed Assessment. I was particularly happy with the way the make up went when shooting for my first catwalk look. The contour and highlighting really showed up well on camera and gave my models face a great glow. There was a few smudges of the eye make up just on the creases of the eyes which was due to the make up product I used and when the model opened her eyes it smudged. However this didn't look obvious and I will be able to edit this when touching up my images in Photoshop but this will definitely be something I will try to be more aware of and careful with next time. I was also really impressed with how the lips looked on camera, using the glitter on them really made them shine making the lips look metallic relating to my brand and spring/summer 2016.
I feel that in some of the shots you are able to notice that the colours from the hair and make up don't match due to the hairspray's being a different colour to the make up and I feel this made the images look slightly odd but may not be something that is hugely noticeable and there wasn't much I was able to do to prevent this as it was to late to order any more sprays as they may not have arrived in time. However I feel this is also something that could possibly be corrected in Photoshop when editing although next time I will be sure to order the sprays in plenty of time so I then have more time to try them out beforehand. I also noticed that I got some of the coloured hairspray on to the ears so next time I will have to me much more aware of this.
When creating this look for my timed assessment I felt the hair was slightly untidy where I hadn't put enough product in the hair to give it that sleek back look, however I made sure I used more product when shooting and it definitely helped as I feel it looks so much better and less messy.
When shooting for my catwalk look I decided to use gel lighting using pink and blue gel sheets to match my models make up and also keeping the spring/summer 2016 theme. I felt this looked very effective and worked well although I do feel that with the hair colours being slightly different from the background lighting and the make up that it didn't compliment well at all. So I then decided to try a dark pink background instead of using the gels which I feel worked much better for the look especially with the background being the same colour pink as the make up. I even thought that with the pink hair being darker than the background that it actually looked quite effective as the contrast between the two colours looked better than if it was the same colour which may have made it look too much.
When shooting I also struggled at first to get the correct lighting as to begin with it was too over exposed and then it was too under exposed and I didn't feel it was capturing the colours correctly, however once I overcame this problem and got the exposure right the images were great.
