For my night time advertisment look I began by again researching Max Factor products. I have already chosen to use mascara for my daytime look so now it was to just find another newly released make up product that preferably relates to the spring/summer 2016.
The latest collection brought out by Max Factor is the Marilyn Monroe range which was first released in early spring 2016 which includes the Marilyn Ruby Red, Sunset Red, Berry and Cabernet lipstick collection.
I also took the model I would be using into consideration when researching the products and the model I am using has dark skin so thought the deep colour lipsticks from the Marilyn Monroe range would look superb on her lips up against her skin complexion. The next step is to think about what colour I will be using as not all the colours may suit my model.
Pat McGrath, Max Factor Global Creative Director, said: “I’m an undeniable glamour girl so I love high impact accents of colour, and a slick of red on the lips is one of the easiest, yet most gorgeously dramatic ways, of adding glamour. I know some women can be daunted by the boldness of this look but there’s a red to suit every woman, and the trick is to use expert artistry to pick the right one.”
Black women find it difficult in determining which red is suitable. To be candid, any dark skin lip can speak volumes in any shade of red . This doesn't matter whether your lips are little or plump, the trick is only to know how to give your skin undertones the right thing they deserve.
There are many Hollywood stars sporting a red pout. They not only rock the shows but also step the spotlight by pimping the cover pages of many publications. Among them include; Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Rosario Dawson, Taraji Hensen, Jennifer Hudson and Zoe Saldana among others.
Think of these celebrities and one thing you should know is that, red lipstick is not for these famous women only. “It’s a timeless classic and suits everyone,” (Jamie Coombes, Dior’s National Makeup Artist). The same was echoed by Benjamin Rousseau, LancĂ´me’s National Make Up Artist, who also said that, “For me, red lips convey confidence and sophistication.”
Below is a video in which I found that helped me greatly in choosing the correct lipstick for my model, as I mentioned before my model has a darker skin tone so I wanted to be sure I found the perfect red to suit her complexion.
