Editorial Look 2 - Inspiration, Research & Ideas

The main colour for spring/summer 2016 is blue make up especially on the eyes it is absolutely everywhere. The make up is bold, bright and beautiful. It also appears that for the spring/summer 2016 your bold eye-shadow doesn't have to be evenly applied and that even includes darker blues on the eyes as shown in some of the images shown below.

Max Factor have got their own range of blue make up called the 'True Blue Hues' for spring 2016 which is shown in the image below. These shades of blue are definitely futuristic and a very popular trend this season. Blue Hues this season are used in delicate strokes of liner to full on splashes of colour across the lid. However not everyone is brave enough for the shade yet but just using a bit of blue liner still looks good.

Below are a couple of video clips which I watched to give me inspiration on spring 2016 blue eye make-up looks.

Obviously with an editorial shoot you are trying to tell a story and I want to get it across that I am trying to portray spring 2016! I was thinking of bringing something to do with Easter into my editorial shoot, for example, having some pink and blue Easter eggs in a metallic wrapper around the model or have eggs in an Easter basket to relate it to spring/summer 2016. Some examples are shown below of some images in which I found.

Leaves are also something I feel that would link in well to my shoot as they really correspond with spring 2016. So I was thinking to find a nice location where there are loads of leaves around or I could even just use some props relating to leaves. Below are some images of my ideas.

Butterflies are also a great thing to link in with spring as they are so beautiful, however not sure how I would incorporate butterflies into my shoot. Although I did research some locations and I came across a place called Butterfly World in Hertfortshire which would be a great location for my shoot, however it may be slightly difficult for me to travel to and I am not sure whether or not I would be able to shoot there so I would definitely have to look into this. Another way I could incorporate butterflies into my look is by creating a butterfly eye make up look, similar to the looks in the video clips shown above which I found very inspiring. Another idea is also using butterfly props, some of my ideas are shown below.

Daffodils and bluebells are flowers which also relate to spring so using these would also definitely fit in well with my shoot. I would like to keep the colour theme as blue because this is the main colour for spring 2016 so I feel going for bluebells may be a better option. I was thinking to find a nice location where these flowers will be and shoot it in a nice field or something or I could even use the flowers as props. Some of my ideas are shown below.
